Safetylite footwear is designed to minimise the risk of injury from the specific hazards identified by the marking on the particular product (see marking codes below). However, always remember that no item of PPE can provide full protection and care must always be taken while carrying out the risk-related activity.
DUAL LEVEL WEARER PROTECTION
Level 1
SAFETY BASIC - EN ISO 20345
Safety footwear for professional use, incorporating features to protect the wearer from injuries which could arise through accidents in the working sectors for which the footwear was designed. Fitted with protective toecaps, designed to give protection against impact when tested at an energy level of 200 joules.
Level 2
OCCUPATIONAL BASIC - EN ISO 20347
Denotes occupational footwear for professional use, incorporating features to protect the wearer from injuries which could arise through accidents in the working sectors for which the footwear was designed. This footwear does not contain a toecap.
HEAT RESISTANT OUTSOLE
All Safetylite footwear has heat resistant outsoles tested in accordance with the European Standard to withstand direct contact with a 300 °C heat source for a minimum of 60 seconds without detriment to the sole.
ENERGY ABSORBING HEEL
It has been scientifically proven that even in a normal walking action a downward force in excess of your weight is placed on the heel of your foot. This in turn creates shock waves that travel up your legs and body causing muscle and joint fatigue. Safetylite footwear, with its unique Traxorb® system, has been developed to absorb a minimum energy level of 20 joules to take shock out of the heel.
WATER RESISTANT UPPERS
The upper leather offers protection against water penetration and absorption and is tested in accordance with EN ISO 20344.2004
FUEL OIL & ANIMAL FAT RESISTANT OUTSOLES
All Safetylite safety and occupational footwear has been tested for resistance against fuel oil and animal fat. This is to ensure the sole will not swell or become brittle and crack when worn in harsh industrial environments.
THE CE MARK

Safetylite Safety Footwear has been tested by a UKAS accredited laboratory to the EEC Directive for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive No.89/686/EEC and carries the CE mark accordingly.
ANTISTATIC
Antistatic footwear should be used if it is necessary to minimise electrostatic build up to avoid the risk of spark ignition. Safetylite footwear have a resistance level that will dissipate static electricity whilst still providing reasonable protection against mains voltage. This resistance is between 100kW and 1000mW when tested in accordance
with EN ISO 20344.
SOLE

The Safetylite sole system is made up of a polyurethane midsole with a nitrile rubber outsole and the Safetylite
TRAXORB technology built into the heel. This unique sole unit gives the customer the benefit of a nitrile rubber sole for superior wear performance combined with excellent grip, more cushion comfort and reduced weight. The unique
TRAXORB system built into the heel is proven to reduce fatigue and has excellent energy absorption.
FOOTBED
This specially engineered footbed is made from polyurethane layered with polyester, so that it can absorb all the shocks while maintaining its shape. Our Safetylite footbed has a polyester top cloth with an antibacterial coating, stitched at the forepart with antistatic thread to aid conductivity and antistatic performance.
GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

All our safety footwear is manufactured to EN specifications as indicated and fully complies with the appropriate standard and statutory requirements where applicable. However, we do reserve the right to amenddesign and material specifications, where necessary.
